HomeDixie Davey's BiographyAug 2, 2011
Born and raised in Australia, Dixie Davey has spent part of her professional career pursuing several business interests. Her first job was with the law firm of Lavan & Walsh. Over a period of several years, she advanced from Junior Outside Clerk to Legal Secretary. Eventually she managed the firm’s junior staff as a Settlements Officer.

After leaving Lavan & Walsh, Dixie Davey became part owner of Australian Bride. Working with her mother, a successful designer, she acted as Company Director of the bridal gown manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing outlet store for nearly a decade. Her next job, while her children were very young, was as a waitress at a renowned French restaurant in Western Australia. From 1994 to 2002, Dixie Davey worked as a Business Banking Consultant for the Bank of Western Australia (Bankwest). During her time at Bankwest, she met her future business partner and husband, John Walker.

In 2002, Dixie Davey joined her husband in his compost research and development company, At Source Organics. In 2006, she co-founded a successful online natural health supply store called Becoming Younger. Early in 2008, she and her husband traveled to South America. After falling in love with the country and people of Ecuador, they relocated to the city of Cuenca later that year. While living Ecuador, Dixie Davey taught English to children and co-founded the website Retire-in-Ecuador.com, which promoted retirement and property investment opportunities for new residents.

Currently, Dixie Davey and her husband are working on their ongoing book, Framed, Shamed and Defamed. They have already written and published the first five chapters. Dixie Davey is also expanding her website, BecomingYoungerInternational.com, and she plans to return to school for her bachelor’s degree soon. Beyond her business pursuits, Dixie Davey is an avid photographer who has had her work, “Honeymoon Piggies,” published in a special edition anthology entitled Best of 2009 Photography. She also enjoys track and field sports, Internet research, writing, reading, movies, music, and decorating with exotic plants such as orchids and bonsai.
